You understand what happened. But it may still feel unresolved.
Specialized EMDR and Ketamine-Assisted EMDR (KA-EMDR) for adults ready to move beyond understanding their experiences and begin processing what their mind and nervous system are still carrying.
Virtual specialized trauma treatment
When talking about it hasn't been enough.
Maybe you've already been in therapy.
You've gained insight. You've learned coping skills. You understand your patterns. You may even understand exactly where they came from.
But understanding something and feeling differently aren't always the same thing.
- You may still notice your body reacting before your mind can catch up.
- You may still become overwhelmed by experiences that remind you of the past.
- You may still struggle with shame, anxiety, hypervigilance, perfectionism, relationship patterns, emotional disconnection, or a persistent sense that something is wrong—even when you logically know otherwise.
Sometimes the next step in therapy isn't talking about the past again.
It's helping the brain and nervous system process what the past left behind.
KA-EMDR
Trauma Therapy Beyond Talking
Our practice specializes in EMDR and Ketamine-Assisted EMDR (KA-EMDR) for adults experiencing the ongoing effects of trauma, attachment wounds, relationship injuries, loss, and other adverse life experiences.
KA-EMDR integrates EMDR therapy with carefully prescribed, low-dose ketamine during selected trauma-processing sessions when medically and clinically appropriate.
The intention isn't to escape from your experience.
It's to create conditions that may help you approach, access, and process it differently.

What if the problem isn't that you haven't understood enough?
- You might already know:
“I'm safe now.”
But your body remains on alert.
- You might know:
“What happened wasn't my fault.”
But still carry shame.
- You might know:
“I don't have to take care of everyone.”
But saying no still feels dangerous.
- You might know:
“This relationship is different.”
But still expect abandonment.
- You might know:
“I'm good enough.”
But never quite feel it.
These gaps between what we know intellectually and what we experience emotionally are often where trauma-processing therapy can be particularly meaningful.
What We Treat
Treatment may address experiences such as:
- Complex and developmental trauma
- Sexual trauma
- Relationship and attachment wounds
- Betrayal and infidelity
- Medical trauma
- Traumatic grief and loss
- Childhood emotional neglect
- Caregiver trauma
- Shame and negative self-beliefs
- Anxiety connected to adverse experiences
- Difficult family-of-origin experiences
You do not need to have PTSD—or even identify what happened to you as “trauma”—to explore whether unresolved experiences are affecting you today.
Specialized Treatment. Thoughtfully Paced.
KA-EMDR is not about taking ketamine and hoping something therapeutic happens.
Treatment is structured and individualized.
It begins with comprehensive assessment and preparation.
Together, we identify what you want to change, understand the experiences contributing to current patterns, strengthen your capacity to remain present during difficult emotional material, and develop an individualized EMDR treatment plan.
Ketamine may then be incorporated into selected processing sessions when both medically and clinically appropriate.
Processing is followed by integration and continued reassessment.
- Assessment
- Preparation
- Processing
- Integration
- Reevaluation
Because meaningful trauma treatment isn't about going as deep as possible, as quickly as possible.
It's about knowing what to process, when to process it, and how to help you remain safely connected to the present while doing so.
The goal isn't to forget what happened.
You may always remember what happened.
But remembering an experience and reliving its emotional impact are very different things.
The goal of trauma processing isn't to erase your history.
It's to help what happened become something you can remember without it continuing to define how you experience yourself, your relationships, or your life today.
Helping the past feel like the past.

Already Have a Therapist?
You don't necessarily have to leave them.
We offer adjunctive EMDR and KA-EMDR, allowing you to maintain your relationship with your primary therapist while working with a trauma specialist for focused trauma processing.
With your permission, we can collaborate with your therapist around treatment goals, readiness, processing, and integration.
Once focused trauma work is complete, you may transition fully back to your established therapist.
Private, Specialized Care
Our practice is intentionally private-pay and independent of insurance networks.
We do not bill insurance companies directly.
This model allows treatment planning—including session length, frequency, treatment structure, and use of extended or intensive sessions—to be based primarily upon your clinical needs rather than insurance reimbursement requirements.
Clients with out-of-network benefits may be eligible for partial reimbursement for qualifying psychotherapy services. Superbills can be provided upon request. Reimbursement is determined by your insurance plan and cannot be guaranteed.
All services are provided virtually to clients who are physically located in jurisdictions where Alicia is authorized to practice.
You Don't Have to Know Whether KA-EMDR Is Right for You.
That's what the consultation is for.
We'll talk briefly about what you're experiencing, what you've already tried, what you hope will change, and whether EMDR, KA-EMDR, or another treatment approach may be appropriate.
